Hard to pay attention but not that difficult. Lots of reading hard to get through, but had to to be prepared for discussions, Assignments straightforward grading inconsistent, extremely short due dates sometimes. No mandatory participation for lecture, but sometimes calls randomly. wish she understood not everyone in the class is a history feen.

Professor Srivastava is an extremely tough grader, however, for a level 200 class, it wasn't half bad. there were 3 papers and a couple of quizzes. She would warn us about what is on the quizzes however this class is extremely heavy on reading, she would assign 60-80 pages to read in the span of 2 days. Not bad just a lot of necessary reading

An interesting professor who makes concepts clear and engaging for students. She has an accent, but it is understandable nonetheless. Virtually no quizzes/tests, but we did have a few essays that were pretty easy and straightforward. My only major gripe? TONS of reading(25-50 pages every other day). Other than that, I loved the class.

Her views on South Asia are cringe worthy and not accurate. She claims to be a historian when she has only a laymans expertise in the subject. She makes up things. You will be poorer in your learning from her course.

she is truly a brilliant woman who knows her stuff. she definitely struggled with engaging her students during an online semester but that isn't really her fault. 250 is so interesting but it is not an easy A at all. there is a ton of reading every week.

Priyanka is a gem of the history department. Her lectures are evocative. She fundamentally shaped me to think in perspectives I had no access to before. Those interested in subaltern perspectives absolutely must take her class. She has great class analysis and her perspective as a woman of color is greatly needed in the history discipline.

Priyanka is exceptional as a person and as a teacher. Every semester I try to see if there's a class I can take with her. She is an extremely beautiful orator and extremely knowledgeable about her subject. She will help you, just ask. She is easily one of the smartest professors I've had and consider her a role model. Don't listen to the others.

Attendance every day so you can't skip. Grading scale is really weird. You need a 95 to get an A but only a 76 to get a B- Her accent is literally unbearable I cannot understand anything in class. WAY too much reading. Like 100 to 200 pages a week. And then on top of that you have to read two novels and write papers on them. Would not take again

Lectures are unbearable and not real lectures as she loves when students participate. There are at least five readings posted on moodle each week that add to the textbook reading. I am a history major that is finding this class to be intensive. Her A grade is a 95%

The lectures can feel long and her thick accent doesn't help with clarification, which brings the necessity to study and read everything assigned to you (and there's a good amount). The class has interesting content, easy tests, demanding writing assignments, and some slack offs that give you a chance to look good in participation.

You need to read and attend class in order to pass. There are weekly participation assignments you submit online, along with midtermfinal, primary source assignments, and a few reading quizzes. Do not sneak out the back door after you sign the attendance sheet, she will notice. She uploads the slides online, which is helpful.

Overload of information in readings and slides, don't listen to the other posts here, this class is not an easy A. Grading scale is weird. Quizes are 7 points and tests are 15 and your whole grade is out of 100 so a 5 on a quiz means you can only get a 98 and so on. Not worth it if you are looking for an easy G gen-ed.

Priyanka is definitely a professor to have for class. Her class to be honest is a joke, an easy A. If you just remotely pay attention in class, you'll be fine. Her exams are really easy. She'll give a "study guide" with a lot of terms and essay questions, but you only have to do a few.

She's very nice and the class is definitely an easy "A", but she definitely doesn't know the material as well as she should. She has made some completely ignorant statements in regard to religions and philosophies of South Asia. If you have prior knowledge about the region, there will be a few times you will cringe from hearing incorrect facts.

Decent upper-level hist course. No easy A, but Priyanka is nice, helpful, fair grader, takes interest in students. Reading: four texts + online sources; a lot but manageable. Lectures: packed, slide-heavy, but ok. Class: paper/discussion based, no tests/quizzes. Four 2pg papers, two 5pg, one 10-12pg. Attendance/participation: large part of grade.
